747 Cargo Planes Flying iPhone 6 Units From China to the U.S. [PICS]

A bunch of interesting photos showing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus orders inside 747 cargo planes flying from China to the U.S. have just hit the web. As shared by MacRumors, a forum reader who works in shipping, has posted photos of 195,000 iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-orders that he flew from China to Alaska in a 747, which will then be forwarded to Chicago.

“Yep, that’s what I do. I fly stuff. Privileged to be a small part of the Apple supply chain. Just landed a 747 full of iPhone 6’s in Anchorage. Another crew will take the airplane on to Chicago. It’ll be on the ground at O’hare about 9am Sept. 15. I gave it a little extra gas coming over the Pacific, just to get them here a little quicker. You’re welcome.”

The forum poster, who goes by the name of goforblacksky, the huge load of phones pictured above weighed over 256,000 pounds. While this photo shows the cargo under tarps and concealed, another shipping photo from China Daily shows a similar cargo plane (Boeing 777F) loaded with iPhones departing from the Henan province in China, heading to Chicago last week.

Customers who were lucky enough to receive a 9/19 shipping date on pre-order day are seeing their iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus statuses listed as “Preparing for shipment”. We can’t wait to get our hands on one. Are you excited?

Anyone with Bell see updates on their orders? Mine hasn’t showed anything yet. Probably till tomorrow.

Have yet to hear anything from Bell. My guess is that Bell users will probably hear something by tomorrow. Pre-order was Friday at 7:30 AM and their iPhone status web site does indicate it may day 1-2 business days for information to show up. By tomorrow it will have been two official business days so hopefully we’ll get word.

Hopefully. I asked twice today and each representative gives a different answer. It would be annoying for those who ordered Friday and don’t receive their order on launch day. Did they tell you if shipping was based on location or when you pre ordered?

I ordered mine from the store. I was the first one to enter the Bell Aliant store in Scotia Square in Halifax. Mine was updated last night to say:

Your iPhone is in the order queue. We are experiencing very strong demand and cannot guarantee your delivery for September 19th. We expect to receive weekly shipments from Apple, so please check back regularly. Please note, it could take up to four weeks for delivery. We will advise you as soon as your phone arrives.

Its not looking very good. After paying the full $550 for the upgrade. 🙁

I’m in the first wave of Apple preorders and I’m still in the order processing group. I’m assuming these will ship from Toronto and I’m only 1.5 he’s away so low priority.

The correct wording here is ‘disapperared’
