New Jawbone ‘Up’ App Uses Apple’s Health Data to Track your Fitness [Free]

Jawbone has released a free iOS app called Up, which aims to help keep track of your daily life. The app connects with Apple’s Health app and will be able to track your data such as steps and more (iPhone 5s or newer):

UP® is a revolutionary system that guides you every step of the way to a better, healthier you. First, UP gets to know you—tracking your activity, diet and sleep. Next, it shows you how to make simple adjustments that, over time, add up to a whole new you. No UP or UP24 wristband required. Simply connect UP with Apple Health and it will track using your available steps and sleep data. If you have an iPhone 5s or higher, Apple Health will use your phone to track steps.

Up does not require any Jawbone hardware, but rather uses motion activity information from Apple’s M7 and M8 motion coprocessors. Users can also log meals to keep track of calories, sleep, workouts and more.
