iPhone 6 Plus Vs. iPhone 5s Wi-Fi Speed Comparison [VIDEO]

Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come equipped with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, as compared to the previous generation iPhone 5/5s which only supported 802.11n technology. To compare the speed difference between the two Wi-Fi standards, an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPhone 5s have been put to test in a video comparing the Wi-Fi speeds of the two devices (via iClarified).

Test

Before performing the test, both the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 5s were freshly restored to iOS 8.0 and connected to the 2013 Apple AirPort Extreme. The router was placed 1.5 metres away from the smartphones and each iPhone was connected to the AirPort Extreme using a 5GHz-only network.

“No other devices were connected to the wireless network at the time of the test and the downloads were performed at separate times. We cut them together for comparison. As you will see in the video, there is a substantial speed improvement.”
