TTC Expands Free Wi-Fi to Museum and St Patrick Subway Stations

The Toronto Transit Commission and BAI Canada have announced free Wi-Fi has extended to Museum and St Patrick subway stations as of today.

Other stations equipped with free Wi-Fi include: Bloor-Yonge, Wellesley, College, Dundas, Queen, King, Union, St Andrew and Osgoode.

Spadina Station will get free Wi-Fi in March, while Queen’s Park (the last station in the downtown loop of Line 1) will be connected ahead of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.

The TCONNECT Wi-Fi service is ad-based so it comes as no cost to users. TTC has BAI Canada expanding wireless connectivity to stations over the next three years. Each TCONNECT station is also cellular ready, but no cellular providers have yet to join the network.

BAI Canada previously told us “We are confident the cellular service providers also share in our desire to provide this service to both the TTC’s and their own customer base.” Unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet—maybe one day.
