Desjardins Group Welcomes Apple Watch, Says App Coming Soon

Desjardins is the largest cooperative financial group in Canada and has over 6 million members and clients. The cooperative today tweeted out during Apple’s ‘Spring Forward’ special event it would be supporting the Apple Watch at the get-go, with an app set to debut at the start (notice their app installed on the Apple Watch screenshot below):

Desjardins currently has an iOS app that frequently is updated. The app allows members to check account balances, pay bills, make Interac E-Transfers and more. Their Apple Watch app would most likely take advantage of Glances to show you account push notifications or balances.

Glad to see Desjardins publicly noting they will be supporting Apple Watch and launching an app soon–a rarity when compared to some big banks in Canada and their mobile efforts.

Thanks @OlivierCote

Might also be a step in the right direction for Apple Pay, in Canada…. I still wouldn’t be surprise if Apple Pay is launch at the same time in Canada…. still in more than 1 month (Give a lot of time to Apple to finalize agreements with banks).
