Apple Emailing Early Apple Watch Preorder Customers to Emphasize Delivery Window
Apple sent out emails this evening to some early Apple Watch preorder customers, emphasizing “We’re working on your order.” iPhoneinCanada reader Jeremy shares the email, in its entirety below:
Dear Jeremy ******,
Your Apple Watch will be delivered between April 24th and May 8th. When your order ships, we’ll send you an email with a specific delivery date and tracking information.
To help you get started and learn about the amazing things you can do with Apple Watch, please see our Guided Tour videos.
Apple Watch requires iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.2 or later. Please take a moment to check that your iPhone is up to date.
Thank you for choosing Apple.
The email appears to be targeting those who made initial preorders just after midnight and received a delivery window of April 24 to May 8. Apple’s email says those orders will be delivered within that timeframe, to suggest orders may not arrive on Friday, April 24.
Earlier today, Apple released statements to various media outlets to note some Apple Watch preorders will “arrive sooner than expected,” but of course this doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone.
We preordered a 42mm Apple Watch Sport in Space Gray right after the midnight launch and received a shipping date of May 21 to June 2. But a 42mm stainless steel Apple Watch with Classic Buckle preordered well after the midnight launch right now is “Preparing for Shipment” with a delivery window of April 24 to May 8.
With 38 combinations of Apple Watch set to launch simultaneously in nine countries, the task at hand to fulfill all of these orders at once remains a tricky one, even for Apple’s slick supply chain.
At the end of the day, we’ll just have to be patient and hope orders get fulfilled sooner rather than later. Chalk this up as a serious case of #firstworldproblems.
