Martin Hajek’s ‘iPhone 7’ Concept is Absolutely Brilliant [PICS]
Designer Martin Hajek has once again come up with a gorgeous concept design and has published some eye-popping renders for the ‘iPhone 7’ with a completely re-imagined home button (via NoWhereElse.fr).

As you can see in the image above, the concept iPhone’s display actually encompasses the entire home button, which opens up more room for screen space, while also maintaining the home button’s indented look like the one on the iPhone 6, as opposed to just an on-screen digital button. Similarly, the plastic bands separation of antennas has also been replaced by a single continuous line that borders the back of the device, which gives the device a much cleaner look. There is also a dual camera design and a glowing Apple logo at the rear.

I never like his designs.
Or anyone else for that matter.
The front is nice, backside…not so much.
The iphone 6 back side looks 10x worse.
Not really. The light up apple logo on the back is pointless and will drain battery.
I would assume the designer is hoping it would function the same way Apple’s MacBooks do, by using the light from the screen backlight. Of course, there’s a physical problem with trying to do that, because you then can’t place any components in that area or they’d block the light between the screen and the back of the device. Then again, he doesn’t seem to consider the physical needs of antenna designs either, so maybe he doesn’t care about the product’s functionality at all?
seriously? circular screen edges? Has apple ever done circular screen edges?
Mac OS had rounded-edge screens from its debut in 1984 until OS X. Even with the release of OS X, they kept the tops of the screen (the menubar) rounded until Leopard (10.5) released in 2007. So the Mac OS didn’t have four sharp corners until it was 23 years old.
Hmmm
Though I should add that they weren’t nearly as rounded as they are in these designs. These curved edges look a little ridiculous.
I’m always looking for the black top and bottom non-screen areas because there must be spaces for you to grab and hold the iPhone without the risk of activating an on-screen control accidentally. This design would force you to only pick up the phone by the edges which is already a bit difficult, even with a slim case.
Also do you really want those “imperfections (aka home button and ear speaker) ruining your video playback? Nope.
I think the home button is meant to be virtual. Using Force touch, you could “feel” the home button as you moved your finger over it (creepy, I’m sure) but it would disappear while in the App. I’m not sure how i feel about that as I think it would be a major shift in how people use their devices, but it could work, depending how it’s implemented.
Can I “bend” it?
Maybe in 3015
Looks like crap. Also, would be a nightmare functionality wise.
