New Rogers Cup iOS App Launches, Live Streams Matches While On-Site

If you’re a tennis fan in Montreal or Toronto and will be catching Rogers Cup action, Tennis Canada has officially announced a new app for the tournament, to inform guests of news, live results, on-site activities and more.

For fans on-site, the app will allow live-streaming of matches displayed on TVs at venues, extending the viewing experience. Rogers has also integrated a page from its NHL GamePlus feature to tennis, to allow for the following fan features:

• Fan Cam: Fans can capture their own aerial selfies through the flying “FanCam” overhead the Rogers Cup grounds and share images instantly on social media. The immersive, floating FanCam technology is designed to redefine fan engagement and capture unforgettable moments from brand-new angles.
• Meet a Player: Through state-of-the-art projection technologies, visitors to the Rogers Connected Zone will have the ability to interact with holographic-like representations of Milos Raonic and Eugenie Bouchard, and ask a series of questions to be instantly answered, allowing them to get closer to the stars of Rogers Cup.
• Scan to Win: In the Rogers Connected Zone, Rogers customers will have exclusive access to scan their Fan Passport once per day at the “Scan & Win” station for a chance to instantly win a selection of great prizes including refreshments, Uber Gift Cards, seat upgrades, ticket opportunities, and more.

Livia Zufferli, Senior Vice-President, Brand, Rogers, said in a statement ”With a new incarnation of the popular GamePlus platform incorporated into the Rogers Cup app, fans will now have the opportunity to increase their engagement and experience the tournament in a new way.”

The Rogers Cup tournament takes place August 7-16, at the Aviva Centre on York University Campus in Toronto and at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.
