LastPass Mobile Now Free to Sync Across Smartphones or Tablets or Desktops
Password manager LastPass has revamped its pricing structure, to now allows customers to sync unlimited passwords free among their smartphones or tablets or desktops. However, if you want to sync your data across all of these devices, users will require the $12/year Premium subscription.
Here are the details they explained below in a company blog post:
Enjoy LastPass for free on unlimited desktops OR unlimited smartphones OR unlimited tablets – wherever you get started. The same awesome password manager features are available to help you manage your logins and apps, organize your digital life, and improve your security online.
LastPass Premium: $12 / year
LastPass Premium is built around convenience and always having your passwords with you, on the go. To get the most out of your password manager, go Premium for unlimited sync across all devices. With Premium, you have access to a Shared Folder to conveniently share passwords with others. Also, add another layer of protection with Premium multi factor options, and get priority customer support.
There is also a $24/year per user option for Enterprise customers. Users can start a free 14-day trial of the Premium service for desktop once they start on mobile.
While LastPass is quite popular, 1Password remains our password manager of choice. The latter is free to use, but a one-time in-app purchase unlocks Pro features such as Apple Watch support, Time-based One-Time Password support, multiple vaults and more. Vaults can be synced via iCloud or Dropbox, to make data available across all devices, without paying an annual subscription fee.
Back in June, LastPass informed its users it was hacked and email addresses, password reminders, server per user salts, and authentication hashes were exposed.
