Google Street View Launches for iPhone, Now Available for Download

Google has launched a dedicated Street View app for iPhone and it’s now available for download in the App Store (yes, another Google iOS app). This app allows you to connect directly to spherical cameras, such as Ricoh’s Theta camera series announced today, in essence a way to crowdsource photo spheres.

What’s New in Version 2.0.0
• New app name, “Street View”
• Google’s contributions in Explore and Collections
• Street View map mode for browsing road imagery
• Search
• Connect to spherical cameras
• Private photo sphere sharing
• New imagery and privacy policies

Charles Armstrong, Google Maps Product Manager, said in a statement “The Street View app allows people all over the world to explore user contributions, Google’s own imagery, and their own published photo spheres through a seamless world map of landscapes, landmarks, business interiors and more. The RICOH THETA S is a great tool to create this imagery, and we hope it inspires people to contribute to the map.”
