According to a list released by ExecRank posted on Tuesday, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook takes top place in the list of 250 CEOs.
The purpose of the list is to match companies in search of board members with the best candidates possible. ExecRank weighs the CEOs against 24 criteria, including years of C-level experience, earnings growth of the company during that time, and a bunch of other metrics.
Here are the top 15 CEOs according to ExecRank:

3. Satya Nadella, Microsoft Corporation
4. Doug McMillon, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
5. Stephen Schwarzman, The Blackstone Group L.P.
6. Warren Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
7. Alex Gorsky, Johnson & Johnson
8. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook, Inc.
9. Kenneth Chenault, American Express Company
10. Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric Company
11. John Stumpf, Wells Fargo & Company
12. James Dimon, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
13. Robert Iger, The Walt Disney Company
14. Randall Stephenson, AT&T, Inc.
15. Ian Read, Pfizer Inc.
Many people, including Fortune’s Philip Elmer-DeWitt, asked why Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk is not at the top (or even in the top 15 for that matter). In response to this question ExecRank founder John Aspatore said:
“Elon would be a dream board member. If you could get his focus and attention. I’m a startup guy, and in my world Elon is No. 1. But if I were CEO of a Fortune 500 company, the answer would be ‘no.’”
