The video is from artist’s new album Hypermoment, released back on November 6, 2015. As you can see, the iPhone 6s used in the ocean to film various scenes both in and out of the water.

Director Sven Dreesbach told Mashable “The entire footage in Dark Waves was captured during the course of three early mornings, when the water was just the glassiest and best to surf in. Every session took maybe 60 minutes to a couple of hours each.”

As for equipment used? Dreesbach used a Watershot housing case, Beastgrip system and iOS app Filmic Pro.

I think they captured all of this in one morning and lied about coming out for a few additional days. It’s nice and all, but the variation in shots wouldn’t have require the 3 to 6 hours of multi-day shooting that they’re suggesting it did.

Well for starters, shooting with a waterproof case is difficult to see how footage turned out until you can get to a computer, especially when details matter in a video like this.
