Apple Addresses Bug that Freezes 13-inch Retina MacBook Pros

Last week, it was reported that the latest Mac OS X 10.11.4 update contains a bug that causes Safari to completely freeze up on 13-inch Retina MacBook Pros. As pointed out by MacRumors, Apple has finally acknowledged the bug and has addressed the issue in a recent support document. Apple has suggested that users should install all the latest updates available for OS X and also update to the latest Adobe Flash Player web plug-in.
Here’s what Apple says in the support documents:
If your MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) stops responding when Safari or another web browser is running, make sure that your software is up to date:
- Use the Mac App Store to find and install any updates for OS X and other software.
- If you’re using the Adobe Flash Player web plug-in, make sure that you have the latest version. Contact Adobe if you need help downloading, installing, or using Adobe Flash Player.
The newest version of OS X which includes a fix for the bug, is OS X 10.11.5, which was released last month in the Mac App Store.
