Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have already sold out in Korea, after pre-orders started on October 14. The device is set to officially launch in Korea on October 21.

Amid the unprecedented recall of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the new iPhones have been speculated to benefit most from the bigger-screen rival’s withdrawal from the market. Clearly, the recall of the Note 7 has been extremely tough for Samsung, especially on Samsung’s home turf.

According to the nation’s top three telecom carriers, their first batch of iPhone pre-orders sold out within 15 minutes after launching on their sites. A telecom official said:

“Comparing to the iPhone 6s debuted a year ago, pre-order volumes have doubled for the iPhone 7. It’s like Apple is having a field day in a situation where its rival is incapacitated due to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 saga.”

Yesterday, the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration said that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 will be banned from all flights in the United States. In addition, Samsung forecasted a total loss of about $5.3 billion. The company’s shares has fallen about 8 percent this week alone.
