2017 iPhone Line Up Revealed by KGI Securities Analyst

A new research note issued today by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that Apple will release a trio of new iPhones in 2017, consisting of a 4.7” single-lens camera model with LCD display, a 5.5” dual-lens camera version with an LCD display, and an all-new OLED display iPhone with a dual-lens camera, MacRumors is reporting.

Here’s what the analyst wrote:

We look for new 2017F iPhones to come in three models: one OLED model, and two TFT-LCD models with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display. We believe the OLED and 5.5-inch TFT-LCD iPhones will feature dual-camera. Based on this prediction, our forecast of dual camera adoption rate in new 2017F iPhone models is revised up from 30-40% to 65-75%. We view this increase as favoring Largan’s sales and profit momentum as it is the exclusive supplier of wide-angle and telephoto lens. It also bodes well for Apple’s dual camera software ecosystem.

While Kuo predicts a new OLED display iPhone for next year, he doesn’t mention the display size for the specific model. Previously though, he has said that Apple will introduce a 5.8″ iPhone with a curved OLED display and glass casing in 2017. Similarly, Barclays analysts have recently claimed that Apple will release a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone with curved, bezel-free chassis next year.

Reports from Japanese publication Nikkei have also suggested three new glass-backed iPhones for 2017, including 4.7-inch, 5-inch, and 5.5-inch models.
