Mobile Devices Now Outnumber Landlines Nearly 2-to-1 in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan now has mobile numbers outnumbering landlines by nearly 2-to-1, according to SaskTel’s numbers, reports CBC News.

SaskTel has 388,000 landline subscribers, while wireless subscribers are nearly double at 617,000, with over 600,000 of these unlisted in white page directories. According to Michelle Englot from SaskTel, “It’s by default that wireless numbers are not listed.”
Landline subscribers have to ask and pay SaskTel $2 per month to have their number unlisted from white pages. On the other hand, wireless subscribers need to request to be included in white page listings, as being unlisted comes by default.
Premier Brad Wall reiterated this week SaskTel would not be sold, as he stated “They’re not interested in a referendum. They’re not interested in a potential sale,” referring to the overall consensus from voters.
