TELUS Donates iOS Mindfulness App ‘thinkFull’ to Canadian Mental Health Association
TELUS has announced its new iOS mindfulness app, thinkFull, will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) BC Division, in an announcement made yesterday at the Healthy Minds Health Campuses Summit in Vancouver.
The thinkFull iOS app helps users manage stress levels, geared towards young adults, as well as offering personalized mental wellness coaching, plus tips for relieving stress and living well. Anxiety levels can be rated 1 to 7 and history is shown through charts for reference. Journal entries that can be private or shared with a mental health professional.
Bev Gutray, CEO of the CMHA BC Division, said in a statement “Statistics show that 15 to 24-year-olds currently have the highest rates of mood and anxiety disorders of all age groups – with approximately 11 per cent experiencing depression at some point in their lives,” adding “We are delighted to add thinkFull to our arsenal of resources to promote positive mental health and are thankful to TELUS for this generous donation.”
The app thinkFull was created with the CMHA and mental health non-profit Mind Your Mind, a product of TELUS’ first Social Enterprise Competition, an initiative which challenged the company’s employees to create a product or service to improve the health and wellness of fellow Canadians.
Jill Schnarr, VP of Community Investment at TELUS, said “As one of the original content providers to our thinkFull app, it was an honour to gift the CMHA with this intuitive resource so that more youth who are struggling with mental health issues across the country will have the support they need, right at their fingertips.”
