Apple Officially Renames iTunes Podcasts to ‘Apple Podcasts’

Are we slowly seeing the end of iTunes? Apple this morning has officially renamed iTunes Podcasts to Apple Podcasts, according to the company’s Consumer Marketing Manager for Podcasts, Apple News and iBooks, Steve Wilson.

The iTunes branding could be slowly transitioning away, as right now the company appears to be transitioning to offering its own exclusive content for customers, such as their first upcoming TV show for Apple Music subscribers, Planet of the Apps.

Apple SVP Eddy Cue spoke at this year’s Code Media Conference about podcasts, noting new features are coming this year, which we may see unveiled at WWDC. Check out the video below at the 41 minute mark where Cue talks about podcasting:

What do you think about the name change to Apple Podcasts, versus iTunes Podcasts? Should we expect Apple Media sometime soon?
