SquareTrade Samsung Galaxy S8 Torture Test: Cracks on All Sides on First Drop

Last month, Samsung released its latest flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones with 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch edge-to-edge displays respectively. The screen is curved around the left and right, which Samsung calls “the infinity display”, as it gives the feeling of not having any bezels at all.

However, when the folks over at SquareTrade put the two devices to the test, they found that no matter how you drop them, the “screen without limits” is no match for the sidewalk. In their new ‘breakability’ video of the Samsung Galaxy S8, one can see that the display cracks on all sides on the very first drop. The devices get a high breakability score of 77, which means they are at medium to high risk of breaking if you drop them.

How does this score of 77 stack against the breakability scores for iPhone 6S and 7? Would have been good to have that info in the article.
