Facebook Reveals Canada Has 23 Million Users Plus Other Top Instagram Data

Facebook has revealed Canadian specific data for its social network, along with Instagram, to help celebrate Canada 150. To date, there are now 23 million monthly active Facebook and 8.5 million Instagram users in Canada.

As for some interesting Facebook stats the social network told iPhone in Canada via email:

• 2.1 million friendships made with a Canadian every day
• One in every five people on Facebook has at least one Canadian friend
• Top 5 countries with the most Canadian friends (in order): United States, Philippines, India, Brazil and United Kingdom
• More than 6.5 million Groups created by Canadians to connect with people with shared interests
• More than 26.8 million events created by Canadians

…and Instagram:

• Canadians have shared a total of 1.429 billion photos and 79 million videos since Instagram launched in October 2010.
• On average, we share more than 2 million photos per day.
