eBay Canada Shares Average Selling Prices for iPhone 6/6s, iPhone 7/7 Plus Ahead of iPhone 8

With Apple ready to announce ‘iPhone 8’ at next week’s special event on September 12, eBay Canada has shared with iPhone in Canada some of the average selling prices of the latest iPhones.

The online marketplace said last year when the iPhone 7 launched, a previous generation iPhone was purchased or sold on the site every five minutes, with iPhone listings by Canadians jumping by over 30% from August 1 to October 31, 2016.

If you were thinking of selling your current iPhone, to help pay for your next upgrade, eBay Canada has shared the average selling prices so far of the following models:

  • iPhone 7 Plus – $705 CAD
  • iPhone 7 – $616 CAD
  • iPhone 6s Plus – $368 CAD
  • iPhone 6s – $251 CAD
  • iPhone 6 Plus – $258 CAD
  • iPhone 6 – $173 CAD

Obviously, the best time to sell your current iPhone is before Apple announces its newest models. eBay says over the past three years, average sale prices for previous generation iPhones have dropped 10% the month after new models are released.

To date, the most popular iPhone sold by Canadians on eBay is the iPhone 4s, while the most popular model purchased by Canadians has been the iPhone 5s.

Will you be selling your existing iPhone on eBay this fall?

I’ll probably use the trade-in program, don’t have time to use eBay, although I agree you can get a good buck for your old device on eBay.

In other words, sell it locally for $15 less than the average eBay rate, avoid commission, avoid shipping fees. Everyone wins. I used to like selling stuff on eBay, but find it to be a complete hassle with non paying bidders, etc.

These ebay stats seem far too low. My groups in Canada, the USA and Australia have seen higher, more reasonable prices.

I have a 7 plus, 256GB Jet Black. I put it in a case and glass shielding from day one. It is unlocked. Comes with original accessories (never been used). It can be yours for only $710.

these numbers are way off, seem more like the initial offer bid prices not what they actually sell for. iPhone 6 current value is closer to $300. (grade A)
