New Samsung Galaxy Ad Destroys a Decade of iPhone Users [VIDEO]

Samsung USA posted a new ad to its YouTube channel today, which mocks Apple’s iPhone users, dating back to the original in 2007.

Samsung mocks the ‘notch’ in the iPhone X, portrayed on this poor actor’s hairline

The Galaxy ad titled “Growing Up”, follows the life of a loyal iPhone user, who each year appears to miss out of the ‘next big thing’, which obviously are features his partner has on her Galaxy smartphone.

Some specific iPhone moments Samsung chooses to make fun of include storage, smaller screens, lack of a stylus, dongles, wireless charging, waterproofing and even the notch on iPhone X display.

Apple should attack back by making a War scene. Soldiers are out of grandes and use Samsung phones to bomb….the slogan at the end should be “Why keep a bomb instead of X?” or “Bomb or X, your call”..

Lol. Apple has had its fair share of production issues gone live. I think my favorite part was when he was charging and listening to music lol.

These types of ads are made by companies trying to catch up in sales. Apple did it, with class, with the Get a Mac campaign. This is a funny ad, but man imagine one ad about the Note 7 or CEO’s heading to prison… Samsung, still with no shame…….

These kind of ads might sway first time buyers. The issue is that once you’ve decided on which direction you are going to go, Android or iOS you tend to stay there. People hate switching platforms. Good add from Samsung. Competition is a good thing for all.

I’m rather disappointed. One thing about Samsung is their advertisements. They are really good in beating down Apple.

Maybe I’m not seeing the point of this video. I just see one dude having Samsung envy but there’s nothing even slightly compelling for him to have this desire.

What I noticed is that they try to show the advantages of the Galaxy in comparision to the iPhone. Emphasing that the « future is now » rather than having to wait in line to get it. But the « advantages » of having a Galaxy is not clearly shown IMO. Like when they enter their contact infos. No. Eed to use a stylus and write it instead of typing..

Haha, I’ve been an iPhone user since the first one, and find this ad really funny. I’m all-in on Apple ecosystem (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and will be getting HomePod), but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been annoyed at some of things Apple has done that’s highlighted in the ad (keeping a 16gb version for so long when it was definitely too small, removing headphone jack, lack of water-proofing – only thing that didn’t apply to me was the stylus – I was ok with Apple’s choice here).
I still love the iPhone despite those annoyances – but agree a big part of it is how sticky the platform is once you’re on it. For better or worse, highly unlikely I could switch now…

I’ll probably ditch the iPhone in the future. it’s too bad there’s no working solution to convert or export your IPhone Notes to other platforms like Evernote. I’ve collected over 500 Notes over the years and started saving my iOS notes to Google Notes instead.

Right now with iOS 11x, both Android and iOS are quite buggy. I never experienced frozen apps or screens before on iOS, but with iOS it’s fairly common for me after updating despite the usual troubleshooting.

When you take the high road, I’ll take the low road. Congrats Samsung. You’ve made the low road proud with this one. They should probably realize by now that using these type of tactics just don’t work and bore people.

I miss the “I’m a Mac” and “I’m a PC” videos. They were fun, and lighthearted and not terribly smug. This ad is a show across the bow… but smug. It’ll appeal to existing users, due to confirmation bias.

The video was fun to watch but I don’t see anything convincing to ditch the iPhone for Samsung. I Expected Samsung to do better.
