Apple Pay Card Limit Expands to 12 for iPhone X, iPhone 8, Apple Watch Series 3

It appears Apple has expanded the number of cards you can add to Apple Pay on a single device, moving beyond the previous eight debit and credit card limit.

The new limit is 12 cards and only available for iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and Apple Watch Series 3 owners. Older iOS and Apple Watch models are still limited to eight cards.

One iPhone in Canada reader let us know he was able to add 10 cards to Wallet for Apple Pay on his iPhone X, as seen in the screenshot below:

We were able to confirm this as others have also let us know it’s possible to have more than eight cards now in Wallet for Apple Pay for these newer iOS and watchOS devices. This additional iPhone X screenshot also shows 10 cards in Wallet:

It is unknown what is limiting the number of debit and credit cards to eight on older iOS and Apple Watch models, while the latest devices can get 12 cards.

Have you maxed out the number of cards in Wallet for Apple Pay?

Thanks tipster!
