Rogers Anyplace TV for iOS Now Supports French

Rogers Anyplace TV for iOS allows Rogers TV customers watch live sports, news, shows and more from their iPhone or iPad, plus access content on demand.

The app was updated today to bring support for French, while also fix bugs and also add performance enhancements.

Rogers Anyplace TV works over a data connection or Wi-Fi, and requires a MyRogers profile linked to your Rogers TV subscription for access.

Unfortunately, Apple AirPlay and Chromecast support “is not supported due to content rights restrictions,” but users can watch on the web in a browser.

Back in October, Rogers Anyplace TV for iOS and the web was redesigned. The service is available for free as part of a Rogers Digital TV package, which includes Digital Starter packages.

French should have been there on day one.

Having lived in Canada for quite a while now, I’m surprised that French isn’t the default language with an option to pay extra to use English.

Isn’t that usually how it works here?

I’ve been disappointed by the lack of AppleTV apps for French Canadian channels. I can watch CBC but, with the exception of watching old programs on Tou.TV, I can only stream live French TV from France. What’s behind the slow adoption of AppleTV at Radio-Canada? And CBC’s streaming is a mess.
