Apple Canada has restocked their refurbished store to now include the fifth generation iPod touch from June 2014, which includes the iPod touch loop on the back, starting at $159 and all the way up to $219 for a 64GB model.
These old iPod touch models are powered by Apple’s A5 chip and come with a new battery, outer shell and white box. This model was cancelled by Apple when the sixth generation iPod touch debuted in the summer of 2015.
The fifth generation iPod touch does not support iOS 11, so you’ll be stuck with iOS 9.3.5, which was released in the fall of 2016. But hey, you will have Siri support, right?
If you need a ‘cheap’ iOS device for the kiddies (or a music player), these ones will do, but you may be better off with a sixth generation model, which supports iOS 11.
