SaskTel Launches Faster Internet in Rural Saskatchewan

SaskTel recently announced rural Saskatchewan now has faster Internet speeds, with the launch of interNET Extended 25, which brings download speeds of up to 25 Mbps.

“I am excited that SaskTel has decided to provide faster internet service to our town,” said Gerry Hill, Mayor of Wolseley, in a statement. “I welcome this excellent opportunity for our residences, businesses, schools, and health care institutes to have the advantages faster internet service will bring.”

The new interNET Extended 25 plan is now available in Balgonie, Davidson, Grenfell, Indian Head, Lumsden, Whitewood, and Wolseley. All seven of these communities have access to interNET 5, 10 and 25 plans, which include unlimited data usage.

“We’re excited to bring faster internet service to rural Saskatchewan because we understand the integral role that it plays in modern life,” said Doug Burnett, Acting SaskTel President and CEO. “With interNET Extended 25, our rural customers will have more bandwidth than ever before to surf, stream, share, and download as much content as they want.”

SaskTel says these upgrades are part of the company’s plan to invest $301 million in the province in 2018-19, and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023.
