Mazda Canada Apple CarPlay, Android Auto Retrofit to Cost $443

Back in the spring, Mazda Canada announced to customers it would offer an Apple CarPlay retrofit option for its older models this fall. Last month, Mazda finally released details and pricing on what this CarPlay—and Android Auto—retrofit would cost.

According to Mazda Canada, their Genuine Mazda Accessory for the 2018 Mazda 6 and 2019 Mazda CX-3 is available for a special price of $250 “for models built prior to the production change as of September 1.”

But starting in November, 2018 MAZDA6 and 2019 CX-3 models hitting dealerships will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment, as seen with this summer’s 2019 CX-9.

Mazda says their entire 2019 fleet will have CarPlay and Android Auto standard, except for the 2019 MX-5. Mazda customers have been waiting patiently for CarPlay, as competitors such as Honda and Toyota have long offered support for the setup, which Apple says “is a smarter and safer way to use your iPhone in the car.”
