The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has 8GB of RAM, a 7nm TSMC-made Kirin 980 chipset, a 3120 x 1440 display resolution and runs the latest Android 9.0.

For the iPhone XS Max, we have the 7nm A12 Bionic, 4GB of RAM, a 2688 x 1242 display resolution and iOS 12.1.1.

With just half the RAM of the Mate 20 Pro—can the iPhone XS Max take the win?

In the first ‘lap’, the iPhone XS Max beats the Mate 20 Pro by five seconds, and by the time the second lap is completed, the iPhone XS Max completes the test in 2 minutes and 22 seconds, beating the Mate 20 Pro by 18 seconds, and retains its title as the king of the YouTube channel’s speed tests.

Tests like this aren’t indicative of real-world use, but do show how the amount of RAM in a smartphone isn’t everything.
