Apple News Launch in Canada Coming “Later This Quarter”: Cook

iOS 12.2 beta was released with Apple News for Canadian users. After the launch of the beta, The Canadian Press reported the official launch would be coming this week.

The debut of Apple News in English and French would include five publications working with Apple at the start, including CBC, Radio Canada, La Presse, CTV News and the Toronto Star.

Has Apple changed the launch timeline of Apple News in Canada?

Speaking during Apple’s Q1 2019 earnings call, CEO Tim Cook said the next “bilingual launch in Canada” for Apple News would be coming “later this quarter,” instead of mentioning this week, as previously stated by Canadian media reports.

According to Apple, there are now 85 million Apple News readers across the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

Apple also announced it set revenue records in the quarter in Canada.
