Ecobee Launches New Apple Watch App to Control Thermostats and More from your Wrist

Canadian company ecobee recently re-launched an Apple Watch app as part of their iOS app’s 7.0 update.

The company previously had an Apple Watch app that debuted in 2015, but was removed last year from the App Store. It had long detailed to customers a new version was coming in the future and now it’s finally here.

The new Apple Watch app now lets customers control ecobee devices from their wrist, including thermostats and light switches plus view room sensor info. Ecobee says Apple Watch complications will be coming soon.

Customers can easily set a desired temperature with the ecobee Apple Watch app, down to a specific degree and even control heating or cooling modes, plus choose desired set points in auto mode.

The app also details which of your devices are on and users can tap actions to turn them on or off.

Users can also use Force Touch (a hard long press with your finger) to access the app’s quick changes menu, to bring up ‘Home’, ‘Away’, ‘Fan On’ and ‘Fan Auto’ options.

The Apple Watch update was released last week. It requires users to sign into the ecobee app upon launch on iPhone to connect their Apple Watch.
