Does Your iPhone X/XS Flashlight Seem to Turn on By Itself?
As pointed out in a report by USA Today, a growing number of iPhone users has reported to Apple that the flashlight on their iPhone X and XS devices seems to turn on by itself, most commonly after pulling the device from their pockets.
Many users have even asked Apple about how to permanently remove the flashlight shortcut from the lock screen to prevent this from happening. “It’s interesting that the camera shortcut on the other side of the phone is never triggered. For some reason, it’s always the flashlight”, said Sacramento comedian Morgan Lujan.
Some users have also taken to Twitter, Reddit, and other public forums to express their grievances over the issue. Here are a few examples:
The flashlight on the iPhone X turns on by itself. Then you have to turn it on and off to get it to go off. I’m so confused.

As of now, there’s no way to remove the flashlight icon from the lock screen. A quick tip to kill the torch quickly, however, is by slightly swiping left on the lock screen. Even a half-swipe seems to do the job.
Do you find the flashlight turning on by itself often on your iPhone?
