Expect new emojis coming this year to mobile platforms including iOS and Android. According to Emojipedia, the Unicode Consortium has released their final list for 2019, which includes 230 new emojis:
Emoji 12.0 is comprised of 59 distinct new emojis; 75 when gender variations are taken into account; and 230 new emojis when all skin tone options are also included.
This year, more people are represented including those with various disabilities—previously advocated by Apple—and people with different skin tone mixes and more.
Food items coming include waffle, butter, garlic, oyster and more. There are also emojis coming for guide dogs, flamingo, sloth, skunk and more.

Now, if only 2019 will bring an emoji search feature in the native iOS keyboard (Gboard offers this, however).
