Apple Updates App Store Guidelines With Enforced Rules Against Low-Effort Apps
Within the App Store Guidelines support page, Apple urges developers not to "submit apps that are indistinguishable from what's already widely available."
McDonald’s iOS App Offers Buy One, Get One Sandwich Valentine’s Day Deal
McDonald’s is promoting a Valentine’s Day deal via email and within their iOS and Android apps, offering a buy one, get one deal on sandwiches. McDonald’s says you can “couple up for Valentine’s Day” and “enjoy a sweet deal for you and your Valentine. Today only, buy one sandwich and get one free, only with the My McD’s app.”
To redeem this offer, launch the My McD’s app, then go to View Offers and show the QR code to the cashier or at a digital order kiosk. Eligible items include the company’s Filet-O-Fish, Big Mac, McChicken, Quarter Pounder and 6-piece Nuggets. Not included is your dignity for eating McDonald’s by yourself in your parked car after going through the drive-thru.
