Rogers today has announced it has improved wireless service in Metro Vancouver, while also detailed its plans to increase investments in British Columbia for LTE, fibre and 5G.
For Rogers and Fido customers in Surrey, B.C., “improved wireless service along Fraser Highway at the intersections of 64th Ave and King George Blvd as well two sites in the Newton area of Surrey,” is now available.
“Our customers want high quality wireless access wherever they are, whether it’s commuting along the Fraser Highway, shopping in Willowbrook or even just using their device in their own backyard,” said Rick Sellers, President, British Columbia, Rogers Communications, in a statement.
Rogers today also announced it plans to “accelerate” its investments in the province in 2019, with plans to double investments to improve its LTE network, fibre network and also groundwork for 5G.
Dean Prevost, President, Rogers for Business said in a statement, “More fibre allows Rogers to enable even more underserved businesses in the province, with reliable connectivity and flexibility for future growth as we go live with 5G.”
Rogers currently is testing a 5G hub at the University of British Columbia, which the company says “will be a blueprint for 5G innovation in Canada.”
