Tidal iOS Update Brings High-Fidelity Audio for iPhone Users [u]
Music streaming service Tidal differentiates itself from other audio services by touting high fidelity audio, which recently became available for iOS users.
An update to Tidal for iOS yesterday introduced HiFi support for members, as they can now “access over 150,000 master-quality tracks – audio as flawless as it sounded in the mastering suite,” explains the company. Tidal explains, “In partnership with MQA, we’re bringing you the ultimate audio experience.”
There are various ways you can listen to HiFi audio with Tidal:
With your TIDAL HiFi membership, listen to thousands of master-quality songs on your iOS or Android device, and through your TIDAL desktop app.
This update also brings some CarPlay improvements plus unnamed minor bug fixes.
Tidal Premium costs $9.99 per month in Canada, while Tidal HiFi costs $19.99 per month, offering lossless sound quality. Students can get Tidal for 50% off at $4.99.
While Tidal has a small offering of HiFi tracks,
the streaming service’s library is not as vast as Spotify or Apple Music, the leaders in the streaming music game, the service’s catalogue has 60 million tracks.
