DoorDash Launches in Winnipeg: Delivery in 30 Minutes or Less or You Get $30 Credit

DoorDash has launched in Winnipeg, Manitoba today, marking the 50th city in Canada where the mobile order and delivery food service is available.

A new promotion to celebrate the launch is the “30 or $30” for the month of May, which says if your food is not delivered within 30 minutes or less after placing your order, DoorDash will email you a $30 voucher credit within 5 business days. This reminds me of the days when Domino’s would promise to deliver your steaming hot pizza in 30 minutes or less.

“We’re excited to launch in Winnipeg and continue our expansion efforts in Canada, which is a priority market for DoorDash,” said Brent Seals, DoorDash’s Country Director of Canada, in a statement. “We first expanded to Canada in 2015 and commit to expanding our footprint to 100 cities by the end of the year, as the Canadian market offers a diverse customer base that is in need of the world-class service that we uniquely provide.”

The delivery service will operate in Winnipeg from 11AM to 10PM, seven days a week. Another promo part of its launch offers $0 delivery, for a customer’s first thirty days using DoorDash.

There are over 300 restaurants signed up with DoorDash at launch in Winnipeg, including NuBurger, Underdogs, and King + Bannatyne.

DoorDash says it plans to reach over 100 cities in Canada by the end of 2019. Currently, it’s available in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Red Deer, Regina and Vancouver, to name a few cities.
