Facebook Working to ‘Get Things Back to Normal’ Across Instagram, WhatsApp
While acknowledging the ongoing outages across its various apps, Facebook has said that is aware of the issues currently being faced by Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger users and is “working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” The Verge is reporting.
For those who haven’t noticed, Facebook has been having problems loading images, videos, and other data across its apps since morning today. As a result, a large number of users haven’t been able to load photos in the Facebook News Feed, view stories on Instagram, or even get to send messages in WhatsApp and Messenger.
We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #facebookdown

According to DownDetector, a website that monitors website and app issues, problems with Facebook started around 8 AM ET.
The errors aren’t affecting all images; many pictures on Facebook and Instagram still load, but others are appearing blank. DownDetector has also received reports of people being unable to load messages in Facebook Messenger.
A Facebook outage affects a suite of popular apps, and those apps collectively have billions of users who rely on them. That’s a big deal when those services have become critical for business and communications.
