Apple has updated two of their most popular laptops for students, with the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro seeing a refresh plus lower pricing in Canada, just ahead of the back to school season.
“College students love the Mac — it’s the notebook they rely on from the dorm room to the classroom, and the No. 1 choice among higher education students,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac Product Marketing. “With a lower $1,319 student price for MacBook Air and the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with faster performance, Touch Bar and Touch ID at $1,569 for students, there’s never been a better time to bring a Mac to college.”
MacBook Air Now Starts at $1,449, Gets True Tone Display
The MacBook Air now has Apple’s True Tone technology, which automatically adjusts its 13-inch Retina display’s colour temperature based on your environment. Along with Touch ID, 8th-generation dual-core CPUs and wide stereo speakers, it also sees a $50 price drop to start at $1,449 and $1,319 for college and university students.
13-inch MacBook Pro Gets Latest Processors, Touch ID and More
Apple has also updated the entry 13-inch MacBook Pro with Intel’s latest quad-core processors, offering “up to two times faster performance.” The laptop also now includes Touch Bar with Touch ID and a Retina display with True Tone, along with Apple’s T2 Security Chip to go with wide stereo speakers.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro now starts at $1,699 ($30 off!), while college and university pricing starts at $1,569.
