Apple May Use 120Hz ‘ProMotion’ Displays in 2020 iPhones
A mobile leaker who goes by the Twitter handle @UniverseIce, has claimed in a recent tweet that Apple is currently in discussions with Samsung and LG regarding the development of 120Hz ‘ProMotion’ displays for its flagship iPhones releasing in 2020, MacRumors is reporting.

Although well-regarded as a reliable source of Samsung rumours and leaks, the leaker does not usually comment on Apple’s plans.
Displays with 120Hz refresh rates offer a much smoother on-screen experience. Apple is currently using ProMotion displays in its iPad Pro models, offering variable refresh rates which are dynamically adjusted to the movement of content for smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness.
Should Apple bring its variable refresh rate technology to a new breed of OLED iPhones, it would raise the smartphone performance bar even higher.
