SSi Micro and Rogers have announced a new wireless roaming agreement for customers of both companies.
This north-south roaming agreement means SSi Mobile customers from Nunavut can roam nationwide on the Rogers wireless network, and vice versa with no extra charges.
“Our customers deserve the best possible service, whether at home, at work, or traveling outside Nunavut,” said Jeff Philipp, founder and CEO of SSi, in a statement to iPhone in Canada. “As the only network operator with coverage in all 25 communities, SSi Mobile is growing quickly in numbers and popularity with consumers. This partnership with Rogers adds another level of excellence, ensuring the highest quality roaming connectivity across the country.”
This agreement marks the first time Rogers consumer and business customers can now roam in all 25 Nunavut communities on the SSi 4G-LTE northern network; previously roaming was only available in Iqaluit.

SSi previously received a spectrum sub-license from Rogers, allowing the former to extend wireless connectivity through 1900MHz bands in Nunavut and Yellowknife.
