Through a partnership with Nisga’a Nation, Rogers has revealed today nearly 1,200 residents in four Northwestern B.C. communities are now connected to its wireless services. Both Rogers and Nisga’a Nation worked together to provide coverage to the villages of Gitlaxt’aamiks, Gitwinksihlkw, Laxggalts’ap, and Gingolx.
The collaboration resulted in the funding and construction of five network sites across villages in Nisga’a Nation, now being operated by Rogers.
“Our collaboration with Rogers is an innovative partnership that is improving connectivity in our community,” said Eva Clayton, President, Nisga’a Nation.
Using the Rogers network, residents, visitors and recreational can now access essential emergency services. The latest investment is part of Rogers’ ongoing work to improve network coverage in rural, remote, and northern areas across Canada:

Earlier this year, Rogers announced that it will invest nearly $100 million over the next five years to bring LTE services to over 1,000 kilometres of unserved highway corridors in the province.
