Rogers announced today a new B.C. “customer solution centre” is set to launch in Kelowna, coming next summer, bringing 350 jobs initially and eventually grow to 500 positions. The company says the new call centre, coming in 2020, will “handle roughly one million Rogers and Fido customer interactions each year.”

“Our centres play a vital role in our customers’ experience, and we’re pleased to add 350 new team members to serve our customers across Canada,” said Eric Agius, Senior Vice-President Customer Care, Rogers Communications, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada. “We’re proud to grow our presence in the province and tap into the incredible Okanagan workforce.”

The 32,000 square feet call centre will be at Kelowna’s Landmark District, on Dickson Avenue. Renovations and hiring will begin next spring. Rogers says over the past 18 months, their “customer solution specialist workforce” increased by over 1,000 members.

Rogers says its “economic output footprint in the province was roughly $2 billion in 2018, generating and supporting nearly $1 billion to B.C.’s GDP,” according to a commissioned analysis from PwC Canada.
