Tesla Model 3 Pricing Increases in Canada, But Gets Slight Range Bump and More
Tesla has quietly made some price changes to the entry Model 3 in Canada and the United States, but with it comes a slight range increase to the base Standard Range Plus configuration.
Previously, the Standard Range Plus with its 386km range was priced at $54,990 CAD in Canada, as of May 1, 2019. Tesla pricing is ‘walk away’ pricing, as it includes documentation fees, A/C fees and OMVIC fees, for example.
This morning, this same configuration now has a slightly increased 402km range—a jump of 16km—and with it a new price of $55,990 CAD, an increase of $1,000 CAD.
Also new for Model 3 today are 20-inch Gray Performance Wheels (silver is gone), exclusive to the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Performance configuration, priced at $75,990 CAD, seeing a $1,000 CAD price increase.
Black paint is also now $1,300 CAD, seeing a $300 CAD price increase (it was $1,000 CAD before).
There’s no word whether a future software update will bring this slightly increased range to existing Standard Range Plus owners or not.
In the U.S., fully refundable order deposits on a Model 3 dropped from $2,500 USD to an non-refundable $100 USD. In Canada, this amount remains at $3,200 CAD.
As for Model 3 delivery timelines, they also increased to 6-10 weeks, up from 2-3 weeks from before. Performance models are showing delivery times of 8-10 weeks in B.C.
