Facebook Launches ‘Whale’ Meme Creator iOS App in Canada

Facebook has launched a new meme-making app called Whale, available only in Canada at the moment.

The app description says, “No distractions, no hidden subscription pricing. Use your own images or choose from our stock photo library and get creative with text, tools, effects, and more right inside the app.”

All you do is pick a photo, make your meme with the tools available and save and share your creation. The app is aimed at simplicity to add text to photos and also includes various canvas layouts, to go with filters and popular effects. You can then share your meme right to your messages and social media.

The app was made by Facebook’s newly created New Product Experimentation Team from this summer, whose focus is to build consumer apps, such as Bump and AUX.
