Scotiabank’s subsidiary, Tangerine, has quietly waived its $1 fee to send Interac e-Transfers from the web and its iOS and Android apps.
“Great news—Interac e-Transfer is now free!”, reads the company’s website. “So add this to your list of great reasons to open a Tangerine Chequing Account for all your everyday banking needs,” it further explains.
Other major banks such as TD, BMO, RBC, CIBC and Scotiabank previously waived fees to send Interac e-Transfers (depending on the account), and now Tangerine has finally caught up.
The Tangerine iOS app was updated last week to support free Interac e-Transfers.
