Apple Rolls Out Firmware Updates for AirPods 2, AirPods Pro

As noted by MacRumors, Apple has rolled out new firmware for AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro, and have both now been updated to firmware version 2C54. There is, however, no word on what tweaks have been made in the latest AirPods firmware.

Previously, AirPods Pro were running firmware version 2B588, whereas the AirPods 2 were using 2A364. Following today’s update, both AirPod models now have the same firmware version 2C54.

The firmware update is usually applied automatically to the AirPods over-the-air while they? are connected to an iOS device. You can follow the steps below to check the firmware of your AirPods:

  1. Connect the AirPods to your iOS device.
  2. Open the Settings app.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Tap About.
  5. Tap AirPods.
  6. Look at the number next to “Firmware Version.”
