Apple Receives FCC Approval for New “Power Beats Wireless” Earphones
As spotted by the folks over at MacRumors, Apple has just received FCC approval for a new pair of wireless earphones referred to as the “Power Beats Wireless” in the regulatory documents having model number A2015, which the source believes could be the ‘PowerBeats 4’ rumoured to release soon.
Last month, an icon uncovered within iOS 13.3.1 code suggested that Apple is planning to unveil the next-generation PowerBeats4 earphones as an upgrade to the Powerbeats3.
The new version is expected to feature an Apple-designed H1 chip for hands-free “Hey Siri” voice commands and “Announce Messages with Siri.”
“The Powerbeats4 appear to have a more curved design that’s similar to the ?Powerbeats Pro?, with the same angled in-ear fit and wraparound earhooks. The Powerbeats4, like the Powerbeats3, will not be wire-free, though, and a wire is depicted trailing down from the bottom of the earhook.”
While the PowerBeats4 won’t be truly wireless just like the Powerbeats 3 and will have a wire that connects the earbuds, the connection to the phone itself will be wireless.
