Rogers and Fido Mastercard Changes are Coming June 2

Rogers and Fido Mastercards have new changes coming, effective June 2, 2020. Cash back rewards are being reduced on local and foreign purchases, with changes varying depending on the card.

For the Rogers World Elite Mastercard, here’s what’s new:

• 3% in cash back rewards on all your eligible purchases made in U.S. dollars (previously 4% on all eligible purchases made in any foreign currency)
• 1.5% in cash back rewards on all other eligible purchases (previously 2% on Rogers products and services and 1.75% on all other eligible purchases)

New benefits will include Global WiFi for the primary cardholder from the Boingo Wi-Fi network.

Here’s what’s new to the Rogers Platinum Mastercard:

• 3% in cash back rewards on all your eligible purchases made in U.S. dollars (previously 3% on all eligible purchases made in any foreign currency)
• 1% in cash back rewards on all other eligible purchases (previously 2% on Rogers products and services and 1.25% on all other eligible purchases)

Here’s what’s new to the Fido Mastercard:

• 1.5% in cash back rewards on all your eligible Recurring Payments and subscriptions, including: your Fido or Rogers bill, utilities, Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime (previously 2% only on Rogers and Fido products and services)
• 1% in cash back rewards on all other eligible purchases (previously 1.25% on eligible purchases made in Canadian dollars and 3% on eligible purchases made in a foreign currency)

All three cards come with no annual fee, however, there are different income requirements to apply for each card.
