Edelman has released a new 2020 Trust Barometer Spring Update, a trust index that takes into consideration the “average percent trust in NGOs, business, government and media.”
The latest update provides a trust index during COVID-19 for Canada and ten other markets, including China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, S. Korea, U.K. and the U.S.
Rogers shared Edelman’s Trust Barometer update today, pointing out how in Canada, telecoms saw the biggest ‘trust gains’ for sectors on the front line, from January to May 2020.
Telecoms saw a 19 point gain, with consumer packaged goods in second with a 17 point rise, followed by healthcare seeing a 14 point increase.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, telecoms have waived a variety of fees, such as those related to home internet data, overseas wireless data roaming, while donated to a variety of causes as well.
The Edelman Trust Barometer says data was compiled from over 13,200 respondents from April 15 and April 23, 2020.
