Apple Quietly Releases Updated 30W USB-C Power Adapter

As spotted by the folks over at MacRumors, Apple has just released an updated version of its 30W USB-C Power Adapter with model number MY1W2AM/A. The older version, which had the model number MR2A2LL/A, is no longer available to purchase at Apple stores.

The design of the new 30W USB-C Power Adapter has remained unchanged, with no obvious spec changes either. This means Apple may have only changed the internals in the updated version of its high-powered USB-C charger for Macs and iOS devices.

The new 30W USB‑C Power Adapter is compatible with any USB‑C–enabled device and is recommended for use with the 13-inch MacBook Air with Retina display for optimal charging performance. You can also pair it with select iPhone and iPad Pro models to take advantage of the fast-charging feature.

It is currently available to order via Apple Canada for CAD $59 with 1 business day shipping.
